What Do You Know?

We are exceedingly O.T.M (over the moon) with the changing of the weather guard. Dare we say it? Spring has sprung!

As well as living with warmer days we are thrilled to be part of this magnificent ever evolving music scene and that we are connected to such a talented and interesting bunch. -you think we are here just to talk about the weather?

Interesting news, reviews and sounds await you, we hope you agree. Please read on...

Joan Of Burwood

This is Monique. She doesn't live in Burwood. However, alongside her Joan of Burwood song (as featured in the Triple R FM magazine "The Trip"), she knows how to write some funny, witty stories, some of which are featured on her critically acclaimed vocal debut album "Welcome Stranger."

Monique has a new album coming our way. This will feature soulful, poppy yet sophisticated tracks on a release to be called "True North". The latest single is "Til The Fantasy".

Just back from a recording stint in New Orleans, Monque is very close to ready, set, launch of 4th of November...  We will keep you posted.

Please enjoy a listen here. -if the sound file does not view properly please click to listen on web Head Records site here.

"An excellent and fitting tribute to an enduring talent." Rhythms Magazine Review September 2012.

Joe Camilleri: Australia's Maltese Falcon, the music documentary features rare concert footage from many aspects of Camilleri’s exciting music career, including the early days with The Pelaco Brother, Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons, The Black Sorrows (of course), and The Revelators.

Feature Album & Top Reviews 4 Smoke And Mirrors

The multi-award winning Jamie Oehlers is joined by NYC’s hottest young jazz drummer and “Bell” Award Winner Sam Anning on bass alongside piano prodigy Tal Cohen. This album is a must hear.

Don't just take our word for it...

Smoke And Mirrors has been made Feature Album at PBS FM (Melb), Eastside FM (Syd) and RTR FM (Perth) and receiving some good airplay at ABCJazz FM.

Some awesome live reviews (read online on the Jazzhead Facebook page) Nice.

High Praise Indeed 4(.5) Barney McAll

4 1/2 stars of praise for Graft in the JB hifi Stack Magazine.

"Throughout, McAll's improvisational excursions are dynamic and emotive."  -quite frankly we couldn't agree more!

And there was a review of the live performance...

"The most powerful impression came from New York-based Australian pianist Barney McAll. His visionary new work Graft (featuring two pianos, vibraphone and a 16-voice choir) combined soulful grooves, electronics, ethereal harmonies and exquisite lyricism".  Sydney Morning Herald.

Please do have a listen yourself and see what you think.
